Partners + Participation

Caltrans Active Transportation (CAT) Plans will be developed by working closely with agency and organizational partners. Caltrans will be able to access the substantial content and advice these participants can contribute to the plan.  Partners will also help support outreach efforts to help reach and engage communities that have been disproportionately impacted by transportation planning decisions.  These engagement efforts can ensure the issues and priorities noted by residents in these communities will be prominent and can be responded to through these and other related planning efforts.

Partners vary by district and generally include: agencies with mobility responsibilities (MPOs. RTPAs, transit providers and others), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), advocacy groups, public health providers and others with a demonstrated interest in active transportation. The district may rely on an existing committee or group or form one specifically to support the district’s CAT Planning efforts.
