FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Caltrans Seeks Community Feedback on the
District 6 Active Transportation Plan
Caltrans District 6 is soliciting feedback from community members and stakeholders on its Active Transportation (CAT) Plan.
The goal of the CAT Plan is to align the state’s bicycle and pedestrian network with the needs of local communities, with an emphasis on improving social equity, reconnecting communities, and improving access for all modes of transportation including people who walk and bicycle.
Caltrans would appreciate feedback on the public review draft by May 6, 2022. The public draft is available for review at https://www.catplan.org/district-6.
Comments or questions about the project may be submitted to Pedro Ramirez at pedro.ramirez@dot.ca.gov (559) 383-5802, or Edgar Hernandez edgar.hernandez@dot.ca.gov (559) 981-7436.
The development of the D6 CAT Plan is complemented by input received from local and regional agencies, as well as from community and bicycle and pedestrian advocacy groups. Through ongoing engagement efforts by the District, these representatives and groups provide guidance on the bicycle and pedestrian needs and opportunities throughout the District, furthering the goal of strengthening partnerships between agencies, communities, advocacy organizations, and community groups.
