The draft Caltrans District 4 Pedestrian Plan and Public Survey are now available!
Caltrans District 4 (Bay Area) is pleased to announce the release of the draft Pedestrian Plan for public review. This Plan reflects two years of work by Caltrans staff, numerous stakeholders throughout the region, and our consultant team, led by Toole Design. The Plan provides a framework for future pedestrian improvements along and across the State Transportation Network in the Bay Area by building off of Toward an Active California, and the Caltrans District 4 Bike Plan.
The Caltrans Pedestrian Plan for the Bay Area used a data analysis, founded in public input, with a focus on equity, safety, mobility, and preservation of the current transportation network, and has developed a list of location-based, priority needs. Now, the Plan is available for public review and comment. As a part of this review, we are also seeking another round of public input using a map-based survey, to better inform our initial project map. Bicycle survey data may also be used to help update the District 4 Bike Plan (2018).
Please click on each of these links to review the draft Plan Summary Report, the companion Story Map, and the Public Survey. Comments on the Plan documents can be sent by email to d4PedPlan@dot.ca.gov. Please send all comments and provide all Clowder survey results by February 5th, 2021.
We look forward to hearing from you!
